Sandy J

I have 30+ years of experience working with the Senior population; volunteer visits in Senior homes; playing music in Senior residences, nursing homes and hospitals.  Over the years,  I have heard the overwhelming fearful remarks about computer technology:  “I’m not smart enough,” “too old,” “can’t teach an old dog new tricks,” etc.  When the opportunity arose, I knew I had to teach Seniors how to use computer technology and empower them, so I started PC Does It.

I worked for Goldman, Sachs & Co. for over 15 years in their computer division.  I have plenty of computer experience.  I currently teach at Senior housing facilities, Assisted Living and Independent Living facilities in New Jersey, volunteer at the Institute of Learning in Retirement at Bergen Community College, and have private students.

I help Seniors overcome their fear of using computer technology, empowering them to become self-reliant, confident and to feel good about themselves.  I love to see the ah-ha moment when what we're working on really clicks in, or the widening of the eyes when they simply can’t believe what they just experienced a computer can do; to hear the stories that start with “guess what I did all by myself. . .”  I have boundless patience and a strong ability in guiding one to understand concepts using smart and fun analogies.
